Managing Patients in Crisis Training

Managing Patients in Crisis

Managing Patients in Crisis training is designed for hospital security staff responsible for maintaining security while assisting hospital staff in providing necessary and required medical care. The course will give a brief overview of different types of mental illnesses and how best to interact with subjects suffering from such condition.  Students will be taught and practice physical controls, joint manipulation, pressure points, and physical restraints.

De-Escalation Skills & Techniques

De-Escalation Skills and Techniques are the cornerstone to crisis resolution. Successful de-escalation actually begins before it is needed.  Through presentation, lecture, and videos, students will be taught communication skills that are inclined to de-escalate, rather than escalate the situation.

Response to Aggression

Response to Aggression addresses verbal and physical threats of violence up to and including active shooter response (Response to Active Threat - RAT).  Beginning with threat recognition, students will be taught to recognize pre-assault indicators and discuss work place violence and other threats, regardless of location.  Students will be taught response programs that focus on self preservation.
