Response to Aggression (RAT) addresses basic responses to verbal and physical threats of violence up to and including active shooter response. Beginning with threat recognition, students will discuss workplace violence and other threats, regardless of location. Students will be taught response programs that focus on self preservation. Response to Active Threat focuses the preservation of human life.
The facility manager and agency supervisors have a responsibility to the agency and their subordinates to foster a safe environment, beginning with preparation. The responsibilities further extends to managing the scene and the aftermath of a critical incident and mass casualty event.
