Crisis Intervention Training for Police Agency Executives

Course Description

Crisis Intervention Training for Police Agency Executives is a one day course  designed to give a broad overview of the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) concepts,  different types of mental illnesses, and how best to interact with subjects suffering from such conditions.  De-escalation skills and techniques are the cornerstone to crisis intervention and situational resolution. Through presentation, lecture, and videos, police supervisors and executives will be taught how the concept of using time, when it is on your side, along with getting persons who suffer from mental illness the appropriate and available assistance. The focus will be on the preservation of human life when navigating the police officer’s legal authority and duty to act, to best protect the agency.
